You will visit Vaux le Vicomte castle – free time to enjoy the castle & gardens (audioguides included). Onwards to the royal town of Fontainebleau, where you will lunch in one of best restaurants in town.
Unguided visit of Fontainebleau chateau & gardens, it’s one of the most beautifully and ornately furnished chateaux in France. It was Napoleon’s favourite, he declared the chateau to be “the true residence of kings, the house of the centuries”. Fontainebleau chateau merits this title, no other castle in France can can claim to have accommodated 34 sovereigns.
The tour continues with a Visit the picturesque painters’ village of Barbizon, take a leisurely stroll along the rue Grande, visit the Auberge Gann, the Museum of the Barbizon School of Painting. The video projection is a must see, it will make you see the fascinating history of Barbizon in a new light.
