Enjoy a full day excursion to visit the stunning castles of the Loire Valley. From the 15th & 18th century, the Loire Valley was the ‘playground’ for the royals. Discover a region with an abundance of medieval, classical & renaissance castles, gothic churches and last but not least, vineyards!
The Loire Valley Castles tour takes in the 3 most spectacular chateaux:
Chenonceau Castle: on the River Cher is one of the Loire Valley’s smaller chateaux, known as the ‘Chateau des Dames’ (Ladies’ Castle). It owes it’s charm to the 6 women (Katherine Briçonnet in 1513 to Catherine de Medici, Diane de Poitiers, Louise de Lorraine, Louise Dupin & Madame Pelouze) who designed & transformed it into the elegant & romantic chateau it is today.
Chambord Renaissance style castle is the biggest of the Loire Valley. Beautifully located in Europ’es largest enclosed woodland park, Chambord chateau is a must-see! During the visit, you can also discover the immaculate formal French-style gardens. It took 2000 workers 20 years to build Chambord in the early 16C.
Amboise Castle : built in 15C & 16C, the royal castle of Amboise was the first in France to reflect the Italian Renaissance style.
